Lyrics for Bye Bye Blackbird
Pack up all my cares and woe, here I go, winging low
Bye, bye, blackbird
Where somebody waits for me
Sugar’s sweet, so is she
Bye, bye, blackbird
No one here can love or understand me
Oh, what hard luck stories they all hand me
Make my bed and light the light, I’ll arrive late tonight
Blackbird, bye, bye
Lyrics for Good Morning Starshine
Good morning starshine, the earth says “Hello”
You twinkle above us, We twinkle below
Good morning starshine, you lead us along
My love and me as we sing our early morning singing song
Lyrics for Blue Skies
Nothing but blue skies Do I see
Bluebirds Singing a song
Nothing but bluebirds All day long
Never saw the sun shining so bright
Never saw things going so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you’re in love, my how they fly
Blue days All of them gone
Nothing but blue skies From now on
Lyrics for Impossible Dream
To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
This is my quest, to follow that star
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far
To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march
Into hell for a heavenly cause
And I know if I’ll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lay peaceful and calm
When I’m laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this
That one man scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star
recently
Lyrics for You Gotta Have Heart
You’ve gotta have heart
All you really need is heart
When the odds are sayin’ you’ll never win
That’s when the grin should start
You’ve gotta have hope
Mustn’t sit around and mope
Nothin’s half as bad as it may appear
Wait till next year and hope
When your luck is battin’ zero
Get your chin up off the floor
Mister you can be a hero
You can open any door
There’s nothin’ to it BUT TO DO IT
You gotta have heart
Miles and miles and miles of heart
Oh it’s fine to be a genius of course
But keep that old horse before the cart
First you’ve gotta have heart
Lyrics for Hello Dolly
Oh, hello Dolly, well, hello Dolly
It’s so nice to have you back where you belong
You’re lookin’ swell, Dolly, I can tell, Dolly
You’re still glowin’, you’re still crowin’, you’re still goin’ strong
We feel the room swayin’ while the band’s playin’
One of your old favorite songs from way back when
So, take her wrap fellas, find her an empty lap, fellas
Dolly won’t never ever go away again
Lyrics for Bear Necessities
Look for the bare necessities
simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Mother Nature’s recipes
That brings the bare necessities of life
Wherever I wander, wherever I roam
I couldn’t be fonder of my big home
The bees are buzzin’ in the tree
To make some honey just for me
When you look under rocks and plants
And take a glance at the fancy ants
Then maybe try a few
The bare necessities of life will come to you
Hineh ma tov uma na’im
Shevet achim gam yachad.
Hineh ma tov uma na’im
Shevet achim gam yachad.
Behold how good and pleasant it is for people to dwell together
Shalom Chaverim, shalom chaverim,
Shalom, shalom
L’hit-rah-a-oat, L’hit-rah-a-oat
Shalom, shalom
Lyrics for Happy Days
Happy Days are here again
The Skies above are clear again
Let us sing a song of cheer again
Happy Days are here again
Altogether shout it now
There’s no one who can doubt it now
So let’s tell the world about it now
Happy Days are here again
There’ll be no more from now on (from now on)
Your cares and trouble are gone (troubles are gone)
Happy Days are here again
The Skies above are clear again
Let us sing a song of cheer again
Happy Days are here again
Xmas 2020 poem
T’was a month before Christmas, And all through the town,
People wore masks, That covered their frown.
The frown had begun Way back in the Spring,
When a global pandemic Changed everything.
They called it corona, But unlike the beer,
It didn’t bring good times, It didn’t bring cheer.
Contagious and deadly, This virus spread fast,
Like a wildfire that starts When fueled by gas.
Airplanes were grounded, Travel was banned.
Borders were closed Across air, sea and land.
As the world entered lockdown To flatten the curve,
The economy halted, And folks lost their verve.
From March to July We rode the first wave,
People stayed home, They tried to behave.
When summer emerged The lockdown was lifted.
But away from caution, Many folks drifted.
Now it’s November And cases are spiking,
Wave two has arrived, Much to our disliking.
Frontline workers, Doctors and nurses,
Try to save people, From riding in hearses.
This virus is awful, This COVID-19.
There isn’t a cure. There is no vaccine.
It’s true that this year Has had sadness a plenty,
We’ll never forget The year 2020.
And just ‘round the corner – The holiday season,
But why be merry? Is there even one reason?
To decorate the house And put up the tree,
When no one will see it, No-one but me.
But outside my window The snow gently falls,
And I think to myself, Let’s deck the halls!
So, I gather the ribbon, The garland and bows,
As I play those old carols, My happiness grows.
Christmas ain’t cancelled And neither is hope.
If we lean on each other, I know we can cope.
